After leeaving Dili (Timor Leste) we headed for Bali, a 4 day ride with 4 ferry trips. The ride through Indonesia was tiring with windy roads and speeding trucks, busses and motorbikes often on the wrong side of the road, a 200km journey takes around 5 hours as the average speed you can travel at is around 40km/h most of the time with a few sections of good straight road where you can get up to 80km/h.

We did the hard yards from Labuhanbajo where after a night in a cheep hotel 80,000rp (less than $10 AUD) for 2. We got up early and headed down to the ferry terminal and caught the first of 3 ferries in succession that would eventually get us tired and sleepless to Bali in 2 days.
